India all-rounder Hardik Pandya made a staggering comeback in the IPL 2022, captaining Gujarat Titans (GT) to the title victory in their maiden season. He led the side from the front, scoring 487 runs and claiming 8 wickets in the tournament.
Besides, GT head coach Ashish Nehra also played a key role in the team’s success. He garnered praise from one and all for his rather simple coaching style.
While other coaches were seen being engaged in their laptops, Nehra was mostly seen carrying a paper in his hand.
Funnily, Nehra holding the paper also turned out to be a meme material on social media platforms. Recently, the former India pacer hilariously revealed what he actually used to write on the paper.

“There was nothing on the paper. I don't know why everyone believes there was something important on the paper. Paper pe sirf menu tha ki practice pe hamaara menu kya hoga (It only had menu for our practice session),” Nehra said during a chat on Cricbuzz.
When the anchor introduced him as a ‘super coach’, Nehra insisted that he is far from one, stating that he was just like any spectator sitting outside.
“I'm no super coach. Just like you, I was also a spectator sitting outside. When the team wins, you talk about all thest things. All coaches put on a lot of hard work and sometimes , you get the results of that. Our first year at Gujarat Titans was really good and we are happy,” he said.
With Nehra and Pandya at the helm, Gujarat Titans won 10 out of their 14 matches and topped the group stage.
After the triumphant IPL 2022 campaign, Hardik Pandya also made a successful return to the Indian T20I side and also got the opportunity to lead the team on the tour of Ireland.
