IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday left their fans quizzical after a tweet which suggested the franchise and opener Shubman Gill have parted ways ahead of the next season.
Gill had his best IPL season with the franchise, scoring 483 runs at an average of 34.50 and strike-rate of 132.33 with four half-centuries. The 23-year-old batter played a key role in the success of the Hardik Pandya-led franchise in their maiden IPL season, eventually winning the title by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final at home in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Titans tweeted, “It’s been a journey to remember. We wish you all the best for your next endeavour, @ShubmanGill! #AavaDe”
Shubman soon replied to the tweet with a heart and hug emoji.
