Former New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor has been in the news after the release of his autobiography, "Ross Taylor: Black & White," in which he made numerous admissions and revelations.

In excerpts of his autobiography published on Stuff.co.nz, Taylor admitted that he would have had a longer IPL career if he stayed at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But he also admitted that if that had happened, he wouldn't have played with legends like Virender Sehwag, Shane Warne, Mahela Jayawardena and Yuvraj Singh

Notably, the New Zealander made his IPL debut with the RCB in 2008 and represented them till 2010, when he was picked up by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2011. However, Taylor then went to the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2012 before being traded to Pune Warriors India in 2013.

He returned to the Delhi franchise in 2014, and it was his last IPL season. The former batter only played for RCB for more than one season. He scored over 1000 runs in his IPL career.

Ross Taylor wrote in his book: “While it was amazing to go for a million dollars, in the long run, I would’ve been better off if RCB had got me for US$950,000. If they had, it would have been my fourth year with them. While the IPL is pretty unsentimental, there is loyalty towards long-serving players and I probably would have had a longer IPL career as a one-franchise player.”

He signed off by saying, “On the other hand, if I’d stayed at RCB, I wouldn’t have played with greats such as Virender Sehwag, Shane Warne, Mahela Jayawardene, and Yuvraj Singh.”
