“Waiting to hear the BCCI announce the new #Iplmediarights. What an incredible sports property #IPL has become! Employing thousands & entertaining billions across the globe, it’s dwarfing all other sports leagues by its incredible growth & it’s completely Made In India,” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, with these numbers, IPL has left behind the likes of the English Premier League, NBA, MLB, etc. in terms of per-match revenue, with only the NFL ahead of the Indian T20 league.

It has been reported that Disney-owned Star Sports has retained the TV rights for the next five years of IPL, while the digital rights went to Mukesh Ambani-backed Viacom18.
