Rajasthan Royals (RR) youngster Riyan Parag has differentiated opinions on social media a lot during the IPL 2022. The youngster from Assam has been one of the brightest stars for the RR franchise in the last few editions of the IPL, but this season saw a new attitude version of Parag.
In 17 matches, Parag managed 186 runs with one fifty to his name, averaging 16.63 with a strike rate of 138.63. These numbers are what got him criticized by Twitterati on social media and even led to RR trying R Ashwin over him as a hitter.

When it came to the final match of IPL 2022, Parag only managed to score 15 runs off 15 deliveries, while RR looked to accelerate in the death overs to get to a score near 150 odd. But they finished with 130/9, which GT chased down with 7 wickets in hands and became the IPL 2022 champions.
Parag might not have done much with the bat, but he stayed in news for his attitude, often bordering on obnoxious. One instance saw him shouting angrily at Devdutt Padikkal for not covering properly and even was seen angrily staring at R Ashwin when he went for a non-existent run in the Qualifier 1.
He was even seen mocking the umpires when one of his catches was deemed to have touched the ground and when he took a catch, later on, he showboated by almost touching the ball to the ground.
Former cricketers like Simon Doull and Mathew Hayden criticized him for his antics on and off the field.
But with him failing to help his franchise in the crunch IPL 2022 final, Twitterverse was not kind to Riyan Parag and slammed him.
