The Indian Premier League (IPL) entered the Guinness Book of World Records ahead of the IPL 2022 final at the largest cricket stadium in the world, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 29, 2022.
As Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) prepared to clash with one another in the final of the IPL 15, the BCCI presented a glittering closing ceremony for the packed crowd in the stadium.
During the ceremony, it was announced that the IPL registered itself in the Guinness Book of World Records by displaying the largest jersey at the end of the closing ceremony and host Ravi Shastri announced that it was the largest jersey in the world, measuring 66 x 44 meters.
The jersey was numbered 15, representing the 15th edition of the tournament. It also held the symbols of all the 10 teams that participated in IPL 2022.

IPL shared the moment on their Twitter with the caption reading,“A Guinness World Record to start #TATAIPL 2022 Final Proceedings. #GTvRR Presenting the World’s Largest Cricket Jersey At The World’s Largest Cricket Stadium- the Narendra Modi Stadium.”
Apart from this, noted Indian music producer AR Rahman, enthralled the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium with his rendition of his popular songs like ‘Vande Mataram' and ‘Jai Ho’, the song that won him two Academy Awards.
He was also joined on stage by actor Ranveer Singh, who had earlier given an energetic dancing performance on KGF theme and 'Vaathi Coming' from Master. He had earlier danced to 'Jeetega Jeetega' from his own movie 83.
This was followed by ‘Rang de Basanti’ and AR Rahman brought the show to close by saying: "Have a great game. God bless you all. Jai Ho."
