Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022 between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) got underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad on May 27, 2022.
The winner of this encounter will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 15 final on May 29, also to be played in Ahmedabad.
RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first. Both the teams came into this critical encounter with unchanged playing XIs.
The start of the RCB innings was quite eventful as a fan invaded the pitch after dodging security in an effort to meet his idol, Virat Kohli.
He managed to reach the cricketer and touch his glove before police personnel gave chase to him and eventually overpowered the man in a yellow t-shirt before hauling him off the field as the crowd roared and clapped.

This is the second straight instance of a pitch invasion in the IPL with Wednesday's eliminator in Kolkata also witnessing a man running towards Kohli in the outfield before police carried the fan away much to the amusement of the Indian star.

Meanwhile, Kohli hit a 6 in the first over bowled by Trent Boult, but was dismissed in the second over of the innings for 7 runs, caught behind by Sanju Samson on the bowling of Prasidh Krishna.
