Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), turned to social media on Thursday to express confidence in the team's ability to bounce back stronger next year after their elimination from the IPL 2022 Eliminator.

LSG, one of the two new entrants in the competition, was eliminated after losing by 14 runs to Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata on May 25.

Along with head coach Andy Flower and captain KL Rahul, Gambhir has been a pillar of the Lucknow franchise. LSG made an impression from the start of their debut season, winning eight games in the league.

But the KL Rahul-led side was not at their best against RCB on Wednesday, who stormed into Qualifier 2 with to Rajat Patidar's spectacular century (112 not out in just 58 balls).

"Hard luck today but a great tournament for our new team. We’ll come back stronger. Until we meet again!" Gambhir wrote in an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, another IPL 2022 newcomer, became the first team to qualify for the final. At Eden Gardens, Hardik Pandya's side will face the winner of Qualifier 2 between RR and RCB.
