IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity stunned as Rajat Patidar’s 112* helps RCB to 207/4 in Eliminator against LSG

This was Patidar's first century in T20 cricket and IPL.

Patidar and Karthik added 92* runs in 41 balls for 5th wicket | BCCI-IPLThe Eliminator match of the IPL 2022 saw Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clashing with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 25, 2022.

The winner of this clash will face off against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the qualifier 2 which will be played on May 27 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and then the winner of that match will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the IPL 2022 on May 27, also to be played in Ahmedabad.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul started off on a good foot, winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. Dushmantha Chameera replaced Jason Holder and Krunal Pandya was back in the XI replacing K Gowtham. For RCB, Mohammed Siraj was back in the playing XI for the big match.

Faf du Plessis got out for a golden duck, while Virat Kohli looked good for his 25 runs, adding 66 runs for the second wicket with Rajat Patidar. Glenn Maxwell was out for 9 runs, while Mahipal Lomror made 14 in 9 balls as they became victims of Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi respectively.

Patidar continued to smash the LSG bowlers to all parts of the Eden Gardens as he completed an excellent century in 49 balls with 6 sixes and 11 fours to his name.

Dinesh Karthik then joined in the fun as well making 37* in 23 balls with 5 fours and 1 six to his name. 

In the end, Patidar finished the innings on 112* in 54 balls, as RCB finished on 207/4 in 20 overs.

Patidar and Karthik added 92* runs in 41 balls for the 5th wicket in the end. Mohsin Khan was the best pick of the LSG bowlers with 1/25 in 4 overs.

The Cricket fraternity couldn’t believe the savage display of hitting by Rajat Patidar, which included hitting Ravi Bishnoi for 26 runs in one over with 3 sixes and 2 fours to his name. They took to Twitter and praised him wholeheartedly.
