IPL 2022: WATCH – Harshal Patel provides update on his injury, says he will be ready to go if RCB reach playoffs

Harshal suffered split webbing while trying to stop the ball against GT.

Harshal Patel | TwitterRoyal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Harshal Patel sustained a hand injury that barred him from completing his full quota of overs against Gujarat Titans (GT) during their last league match of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday (May 19).

Harsha could bowl only one over against GT as he hurt his webbing while trying to stop the ball. David Miller smashed a delivery from Wanindu Hasaranga to the cover region, where Harshal stopped the ball but he suffered split webbing in the process.

The injury has raised question marks over his availability in the playoffs if RCB achieve a top-four finish.

Meanwhile, the Bangalore-based franchise on Saturday (May 21) shared a video on Twitter, in which Harshal himself provided update on his injury.

“Yeah when I caught that ball on short extra cover, I split my webbing on the right hand and I got a couple of stitches, which should come off in 3-4 days. So, if we do make it to the playoffs, I think I will be ready to go,” Harshal Patel said.

In the hunt for elusive IPL title, RCB are alive in the playoffs race but their hopes are pinned on Delhi Capitals, who have a better net run rate, and could move level on points and regain the fourth spot if they beat Mumbai Indians on Saturday (May 21).
