David Warner, the opening batter for the Delhi Capitals (DC), is a dynamo. With his bat, the 35-year-old Australian international keeps everyone entertained, and while fielding, he keeps doing something or other, which the spectators like. His antics are not just on the field, but also off it, notably on social media, where he keeps his followers engaged.

And, most recently, the left-handed opening batter was seen addressing the numerous nicknames given to him by his colleagues at the DC camp in a video published by his IPL franchise. In the mega auction earlier this year, the Rishabh Pant-headed side spent INR 6.25 crore for the Australian, who led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the IPL title in 2016.

In the video, Warner was heard saying, "Ricky (Ponting) told everyone here a new nickname that I don’t think they would have known. They call me ‘loose canon’. When I first came into the team and he (Yash Dhull) was there, he started calling me ‘loose canon’ because I was just wild. Then it changed to 'bull', obviously because they are wild. And now he calls me ‘Pushpa’, so it’s getting better (laughs)."

Because of his international commitments with the Australian cricket team, Warner missed the first two games for the Delhi Capitals in the cash-rich league's 2022 season. Despite playing two fewer games than his teammates, he is the 5th highest run scorer in IPL 2022 and leads the Delhi Capitals' run-scoring chart with 427 runs from 11 innings at an average of 53.38.

On Saturday (May 21), Delhi will play Mumbai Indians in their final league stage match, and the Rishabh Pant-led team will need to win to go to the next round.
