David Warner fell prey to Liam Livingstone and had to head back towards the pavilion for a golden duck during the 61st match of IPL 2022 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.

Sarfaraz Khan, sent to open the innings for the Capitals in absence of Prithvi Shaw, was all set to face the first ball. However, David Warner took the call to face the ball at the last minute. Things did not go his way as Livingstone's off-break took a thick edge off his bat and went straight to Rahul Chahar at a backward point.

As the match was about to commence, the field was set according to Sarfaraz, who is a right-handed batter. However, Warner tried to take a different approach by facing the first ball as he asked Sarfaraz to go to the non-striker’s end.

Murali Karthik, while commentating for Star Sports, said, "What's interesting here is that when Liam Livingstone was getting ready to bowl, Sarfaraz was taking the strike, they set the field for the right-hander and suddenly David Warner decided that he wants to take the strike. So, they have changed the entire field and the batters have swapped ends."

Even after losing David Warner early on, Delhi Capitals went on to score 159, as Mitchell Marsh scored a brilliant 63, and took two points away as they restricted Punjab Kings to 142, with Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav taking 4 wickets and 2 wickets respectively.
