Rajasthan Royals (RR) player Yuzvendra Chahal will be hoping to make the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2022, which begins in October this year in Australia. With 24 wickets in 13 games, the spinner now leads the Purple Cap race in the IPL 2022 season, and RR is also close to qualifying in the playoffs.

The 31-year-old was asked on ESPNcricinfo, which of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin he enjoys bowling with the most. Chahal chose Kuldeep after some consideration and explained his decision.

"Kuldeep because we have played so many matches together, and I have the kind of bond with him where we can communicate without even speaking. That's the kind of connection I have with him", he said.

Kuldeep has also been in fantastic form this season, taking 18 wickets in 12 games for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2022.

Last year, Chahal and Kuldeep were both left out of India's T20 World Cup 2021 team, with Ashwin being chosen ahead of them. India had a poor campaign, being eliminated in the Super 12 stage after losing to Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two encounters.

The T20 World Cup proved to be Virat Kohli’s last tournament as Indian white-ball captain.

In the meantime, Kohli has stepped down as Test captain, with Rohit Sharma taking over as all-format skipper.
