Afghanistan wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz has expressed his delight after getting an opportunity to meet the legendary MS Dhoni.
Gurbaz is a part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) squad in the ongoing IPL and the franchise took on the Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (May 15).
Although Gurbaz wasn’t part of GT’s playing XI, he got the chance to meet Dhoni after the match. The CSK skipper signed an autograph bat for the 20-year-old and also gave his autograph on Gurbaz’s t-shirt.
Taking to Instagram, Rahmanullah Gurbaz shared pictures from the memorable meet-up with the caption: “It was a pleasure meeting a legend @mahi7781 , I cant express my feelings after meeting him because he is a wonderful person and a great inspirational. I will never forget the advices and confidence he gave me. hope to see him soon again.”
Days before the start of the IPL 2022, Rahmanullah Gurbaz had joined Gujarat Titans as a replacement for England opener Jason Roy, who pulled out of the tournament to spend time with his family.
However, the youngster hasn’t got an opportunity to play for GT so far. The Hardik Pandya-led side has already qualified for the playoffs and doesn’t like to tweak their winning combination much.
