Wankhede Stadium will host the match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

GT are leading the IPL 2022 points table while CSK are occupying the ninth spot | BCCI/IPLThe 62nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday (May 15).

While the defending champions have been knocked out of the playoffs race after their five-wicket loss to MI in the last game, the Hardik Pandya-led side has already secured their place in the final four.

CSK will look to end their campaign on a high whereas GT will aim to carry their domination when both teams will square off at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Ahead of the game, Team COC presents to you the Predicted playing XIs of Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings are already out of the playoffs race | BCCI/IPLRuturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have done well for the Super Kings at the top this season and they should open the innings against GT.

The likes of Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube will form CSK’s middle-order, having proved their worth in the tournament albeit a bit inconsistently.

Skipper MS Dhoni has been able to produce clutch knocks under pressure on quite a few occasions this season and he will bat in the lower order alongside all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who hasn’t missed a step bowling in death overs.

Maheesh Theekshana has been the find for CSK in this IPL and the off-spinner is a certainty in the playing XI.

The one aspect CSK has been hit the most is the pace department as in absence of Deepak Chahar, they failed to find a bowler who could deliver the good consistently. However, the duo of Mukesh Choudhary and Simarjeet Singh has done well in the last few games and they should feature in the playing XI.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

Gujarat Titans have already qualified for the playoffs | BCCI/PLGujarat Titans are unlikely to disrupt the winning combination even though their batting wasn’t up the mark in the last game against LSG.

Shubman Gill contributed 63 not out off 49 balls in GT’s modest total of 144/4 and he will open the innings against CSK alongside Wriddhiman Saha.

Matthew Wade batted at No. 3 in the last game and the left-hander should retain the crucial batting position.

Captain Hardik Pandya has been in good touch and he is likely to hold the No. 4 position, followed by ace finishers David Miller and Rahul Tewatia.

Leg-spinner Rashid Khan has impressed one and all with his all-round exploits in the ongoing IPL and he is a certain feature in the playing XI. Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore returned with the figures of 2 for 7 in his two overs against LSG and he should form the spin attack with Rashid.

Coming to the pace department, Gujarat Titans have a lot of choices but they won’t tweak the winning combination. International stars such as Mohammad Shami and Alzarri Joseph will spearhead the attack along with uncapped pacer Yash Dayal.
