RR has 7 wins in 11 matches, while DC have 5 wins.

RR has 7 wins in 11 matches, while DC have 5 wins | BCCI-IPLThe IPL 2022 is genuinely at the fag end of its league stage as Rajasthan Royals (RR) will clash with Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 58th match of the tournament at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on May 11, 2022.

RR are placed third on the point table with 7 wins from 11 matches and is very close to qualify for the playoffs, but need to keep winning. DC, on the other hand, are fifth on the table with 5 wins from 11 matches and cannot afford another loss.

This is an exciting matchup as a win here for RR will get one foot in the playoffs, while a loss for DC will almost put them out of contention for the last four.

Keeping this in mind, here is the Team COC Predicted Playing XIs for the RR v DC match.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS

Rajasthan Royals were happy to see Yashasvi Jaiswal coming good on his comeback into the XI with a quick half-century. Jos Buttler is already in great form and will look to add as many runs as possible to his tally which is over 600 already.

Sanju Samson has shown good form but has not utilized it to make big scores and it seems the time has now come for him to contribute more than a few good-looking shots. The big issue for RR is Devdutt Padikkal’s form and the absence of Shimron Hetmyer.

Padikkal has failed to press the accelerator batting at no.4, while without Hetmyer, RR’s middle order has become fragile. One of Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, or Rassie van der Dussen will come into the XI to replace Hetmyer, while Riyan Parag is expected to take up the finisher’s role.

RR | BCCI-IPLRR's middle-order has been an issue, with R Ashwin being their no.7 batter. Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal with the ball have been terrific and a demoralized DC should prove to be easy for them.

Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna’s partnership has been fantastic for RR and the speed of Kuldeep Sen has just been something that the RR bowling unit was missing. RR will look to take full advantage of a down-on-luck DC to advance one step closer to playoffs.

DELHI CAPITALS

DC have not been dealt a good hand in this IPL 2022. While starting off promisingly, COVID-19 infections, injuries, and overall off-the-field issues have translated into poor performance on the field as well.

All of this caused them to lose to Chennai Super Kings by a margin of 91 runs, which damaged their net run rate very much.

Prithvi Shaw might still not be available for this encounter and expect David Warner and KS Bharat to open. Mitchell Marsh has shown good intent and now is the time to smack big innings. Rishabh Pant has looked good in his cameos but has not been able to go on to make big scores, something which has affected DC’s performance as well.

England’s Graham Thorpe hospitalized in a seriously ill condition

DC | BCCI-IPLRovman Powell finally showed how good of a hitter he was. Akshar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have done well, though Kuldeep would want to forget his last couple of outings.

Shardul Thakur has been unimpressive with the ball, while Anrich Nortje is slowly getting back into his form after a long layoff. Khaleel Ahmed has been one of the most impressive DC bowlers.

RR COC Predicted Playing XI:

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (C-WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Rassie van der Dussen, Riyan Parag, R Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen

DC COC Predicted Playing XI:

David Warner, KS Bharat, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C-WK), Rovman Powell, Ripal Patel, Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed
