IPL 2022: WATCH- “Well done old man”- MS Dhoni cheekily praises Dwayne Bravo’s fielding effort

CSK beat DC by 91 runs posting the biggest win by runs yet in IPL 2022

Dwayne Bravo received a cheeky praise from captain MS Dhoni | IPL-BCCI/ TwitterChennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni is never shy about praising someone, but it has to be in his own style. He led CSK to their 4th win this season in 11 matches as they defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by a massive 91 runs in the 55th match of the IPL 2022 at DY Patil Stadium on May 8.

Thanks to Devon Conway’s 87 and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 41, CSK posted 208/6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. While chasing such a mammoth total, DC coming out of isolation after one of their net bowlers tested COVID positive were never really in the game.

Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant, and Shardul Thakur passed the 20-run mark as DC collapsed to 117 in 17.4 overs and Chennai Super Kings won by 91 runs. Moeen Ali picked up three wickets for 13 runs, and Dwayne Bravo, Mukesh Choudhary, and Simarjeet Singh dismissed two opposition batters each.

Bravo was also subject to some MS Dhoni wit as after he dived to stop the ball, the CSK captain decided to pull his teammate’s leg and called him an old man.

The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 17th over of DC’s innings, which was bowled by Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana. Anrich Nortje punched Theekshana’s delivery to the cover region, and Bravo stopped a single putting everything on the line.

Dhoni cheekily lauded his efforts as he was caught saying: "Well done, old man."
