IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity reacts as all-round DC beat SRH in a high-scoring affair to keep campaign alive

DC restricted SRH to 186/8 after posting 207/3 on the board.

DC outplayed SRH in all departments | BCCI/IPLDelhi Capitals (DC) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a handsome margin of 21 runs in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday (May 5).

Asked to bat first, DC rode on scintillating half-centuries from David Warner (92* off 58 balls) and Rovman Powell (67* off 35 balls) to pile up a massive 207/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Amid the carnage, Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned with impressive figures of 1 for 25 in his four overs.

In reply, the Sunrisers were restricted to 186/8. While some SRH batters got starts but they failed to take the team over the line. Nicholas Pooran was the top scorer with 34-ball 62.

Khaleel Ahmed starred with the ball for DC, taking three wickets by conceding 30 runs in his four overs. Shardul Thakur (2-44) also picked a couple of wickets, including the prized scalp of Pooran while Anrich Nortje (1-35), Mitchell Marsh (1-36), and Kuldeep Yadav (1-40) claimed wicket apiece.

For their clinical performance with the bat and ball, Delhi Capitals received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
