Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their return IPL 2022 match on May 2 which was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This brought an end to a run of 5 straight losses.
The heroes for KKR proved to be Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh. After being jolted early in the chase of 153 runs as Aaron Finch got out for 4 and Baba Indrajith made 15, Shreyas Iyer stabilized the innings with 34 in 32 and then Nitish and Rinku took the team past the finish line in grand style.
Nitish Rana remained unbeaten on 48 in 37 balls, while Rinku Singh made 42* in 23 balls with 6 fours and 1 six, adding 66* runs for the fourth wicket and taking the team to the win in the last over with 7 wickets in hand.

Shreyas had won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sanju Samson with 54 and Shimron Hetmyer with 27* were the main scorers for RR with Jos Buttler contributing 22 runs, as RR managed 152/5 in 20 overs.
Rinku Singh was named the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
As KKR broke their streak of losing matches, the cricket fraternity on Twitter was all praises for Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana as they helped KKR triumph in the end.
