IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity reacts as LSG defeats DC by 6 runs; Mohsin Khan picks 4/16

LSG moved to the second spot in the IPL 2022 points table.

KL Rahul top-scored for LSG | BCCI-IPLThe 45th match of the IPL 2022 saw Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) clashing at the Wankhede Stadium on May 1. DC came into this match in desperate need of a win, but couldn’t manage to do so, as LSG continued their winning run.

LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bat first. His 77 was the highest score by a Lucknow Super Giants batter in this match, while Deepak Hooda made 52 in 34 balls. Rahul hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in his knock as well.

Apart from them, Quinton de Kock made 23 and Marcus Stoinis added 17* as LSG managed a good-looking 195/3 in 20 overs. Shardul Thakur picked all the 3 wickets to fall for DC.

In reply, Lucknow Super Giants bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Mohsin Khan troubled the Delhi batters with their pace and bounce, as Chameera dismissed Prithvi Shaw for 5, while Warner fell to Mohsin for 3 runs.

Mohsin continued his good run as he also dismissed Rishabh Pant for 44, while K Gowtham got the precious wicket of Mitchell Marsh for 37 after the duo had added 60 runs for the 3rd wicket. Rovman Powell tried his best with a quick knock of 35 in 21 balls but Mohsin Khan ended his innings as well.

Mohsin Khan picked 4/16 | BCCI-IPLThe left-arm pacer finished with figures of 4/16 in his 4 overs, as DC managed to make 189/7 despite Akshar Patel’s valiant try, as he remained unbeaten on 42 in 24 balls with 3 sixes and 1 four. DC lost the match by 6 runs in the end.

LSG moved to the second spot with 7 wins from 10 matches, while DC remained at the 6th spot in IPL 2022 points table with 4 wins and 5 losses from 9 matches.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Player of the Match Mohsin Khan and LSG bowlers for a job well done and lauded them on Twitter.
