Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continued their impressive run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as they defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 20 runs at MCA Stadium, Pune on Friday (April 29).
Asked to bat first, LSG posted 153/8 in their 20 overs with vital contributions from opener Quinton de Kock (46) and all-rounder Deepak Hooda (34).
Speedster Kagiso Rabada starred with the ball for PBKS, claiming four wickets by conceding 38 runs in his four overs. Rahul Chahal (2-30) and Sandeep Sharma (1-18) also returned with impressive bowling figures.
In reply, Punjab Kings managed only 133/8 in their allotted 20 overs. It was a disappointing performance with the bat as no one played a defining knock to take the team over the line. Jonny Bairstow was the top scorer with 32.
For Lucknow, Mohsin Khan (3-23), Dushmantha Chameera (2-17), Krunal Pandya (2-11) returned with stunning bowling figures and shared seven scalps among them.
Cricket experts on Twitter lauded the LSG bowler for their stellar display while defending not so gigantic total.
