IPL 2022: WATCH- Virat Kohli takes a great reflex diving catch to send back Trent Boult

RCB won the toss and chose to field first against RR.

Virat Kohli took a good catch | BCCI-IPLRoyal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Rajasthan Royals in the return match between the two sides in the IPL 2022 on April 26, 2022, at the MCA stadium in Pune. RCB had won the first encounter between the two sides.

Meanwhile, RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rajat Patidar was included in the XI in place of Anuj Rawat and it was announced that Virat Kohli will open the innings. RR made two changes and Kuldeep Sen and Daryl Mitchell were included in place of Karun Nair and Obed McCoy.

IPL 2022: “Dhokha hua mere saath”- Harshal Patel recalls betrayal from 3-4 franchises at IPL 2018 auction

RCB bowling was on point from the beginning as RR’s top three fell early with Buttler making 8, Padikkal making 7 and R Ashwin making 17 after being promoted to no.3. Sanju Samson hit some blows in his 17-run knock, while Riyan Parag added some valuable runs as well.

However, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, and Wanindu Hasaranga bowled extremely well to reduce RR to 7 wickets down in 17.1 overs.

The seventh wicket to fall was that of Trent Boult and his scalp should have been credited to the brilliance of Virat Kohli who took an amazing catch at short midwicket off Harshal Patel.

Boult hit a full-blooded pull which saw Kohli diving on instinct to his left and pouching a great catch low to the ground.

In the end, Riyan Parag slammed a brilliant half-century (56* in 31 balls) and pushed the final RR total to 144/8 in 20 overs.
