Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicket-keeper batter MS Dhoni turned back the clock and yet again proved why is he considered one of the best finishers the game of cricket has ever seen.

Dhoni played a sensational knock against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. After CSK restricted the Rohit Sharma-led side to a total of 155 runs, they struggled to get going with the bat and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

The Ravindra Jadeja-led side was under immense pressure as they found themselves tumbling at 106/6. Dhoni, who came to bat in the 15th over, first played a second fiddle to Dwaine Pretorius, who scored 22 runs.

But once the all-rounder was dismissed, the keeper-batter took the onus to himself. With 16 runs needed off the last four-ball, Dhoni took Unadkat to the cleaners. He smashed the left-arm pacer for 6,4,2 and 4 to take his side home and hand MI their seventh consecutive defeat of the season.

Dhoni scored unbeaten 28 runs in just 13 balls. His knock helped CSK register their second win of the season. He was applauded by many fans and pundits including the chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Anand Mahindra lavished rich praise on Dhoni. He said he’s glad that his company Mahindra has the letters ‘MAHI’ in it.

“Well, all I can say is that I’m glad we have the letters MAHI in Mahi-ndra! #MSDhoni Awesome finish,” Anand Tweeted.

Dhoni will be next seen in action when CSK will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday (25th April) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
