New Zealand opener Devon Conway who is playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) has left the tournament bubble for his wedding in South Africa, reports have suggested.

Conway has only appeared in one CSK game and hence his presence on the team may not be sorely missed.

As per ESPNcricinfo report, Conway will rejoin CSK on April 24. According to the rules, the opening batter must spend three days in isolation and pass all protocols before joining the camp.

The 30-year-old  will be unavailable for selection for the 4-time IPL champions for at least two games.

Before his departure, CSK threw Conway a pre-wedding party which was attended by all CSK players and staff, including the legendary MS Dhoni.

The New Zealand opener made his IPL 2022 debut in his side’s season opener against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He could only manage 3 runs before getting dismissed. The squad management has endorsed Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa for the opening role since that match.

The Jadeja-led franchise will be keen to register its 2nd victory when it will face the Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday (April 22) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The 4-time champs so far have won once in 6 matches holding the 9th spot in the points table.
