IPL 2022: Cricket fraternity erupts in praise as Jos Buttler’s 103 takes RR to 217/5

This is Jos Buttler's 3rd overall IPL century and second IPL century this season.

Jos Buttler hit his second century of IPL 2022 | BCCI-IPLThe 30th match of the IPL 2022 saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on April 18, 2022 and Jos Buttler running riot on the KKR bowlers.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first which has been the case in all the matches in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. KKR had one change as they brought in Shivam Mavi for Aman Khan, while Rajasthan made three changes.

Trent Boult was back in the XI replacing Jimmy Neesham, Karun Nair came in for Rassie van der Dussen and Obed McCoy made his RR debut in place of Kuldeep Sen.

For the first time in this season, RR openers put on a significant partnership at the top as Devdutt Padikkal (24) and Jos Buttler added 97 runs in 9.4 overs before Padikkal was bowled by Sunil Narine, who was playing his 150th match in IPL for KKR.

Sanju Samson then came in and smashed 38 runs in 19 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but the whole RR innings was about Jos Buttler. He batted like dream on the Brabourne pitch and scored his 50 in 29 balls and reached his second IPL century this season off 59 balls.

He was dismissed by Pat Cummins for 103 in 61 balls with 5 sixes and 9 fours.

Rajasthan Royals finished their 20 overs on 217/5 with Shimron Hetmyer remaining unbeaten on 26 in 13 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

The cricket fraternity was all praises for Jos Buttler’s amazing hitting ability and lauded him on Twitter.
