Mumbai Indians (MI) are having a tough time in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. They have lost all six games in the competition so far and their chances of qualifying for the playoffs look bleak now.
MI’s latest defeat came against the Lucknow Super Giants at Brabourne Stadium on Saturday (April 16). The five-time champions were at the receiving end of an 18-run loss in a high-scoring affair.
After the game, former MI pacer Lasith Malinga, who is the bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals this season, extended his support to Rohit Sharma and company.
Malinga expects the Mumbai Indians to make a comeback and finish the season strongly.
Taking to Twitter, the Sri Lankan pace legend wrote: “@mipaltan has always been a team of comebacks. Whether or not they get through to the playoffs this year, expect them to have a strong finish to the season. Their core group of players and the support staff definitely have the quality to pull them back.”
Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next match at DY Patil Stadium on April 21.
