Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), on April 16, defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 18 runs in the 26th match of IPL 2022 to jump to the second spot in the points table. With this win, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered their 4th win in 6 matches.
However, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered a major setback after thrashing Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 26th match of the IPL 2022, as LSG captain KL Rahul was fined for slow over-rates against MI.
In the 26th match of IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) completed 20 overs in excess of the stipulated time, for which Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakhs.
Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has copped the fined twice and Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant was fined once for slow over-rate.

IPL said in a statement: “The Lucknow Super Giants have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Match 26 against Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium – CCI, Mumbai on Saturday.”
The statement added, “As it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to a minimum over rate offences, captain KL Rahul was fined Rs 12 lakhs.”
Coming back to the match, MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. Thanks to KL Rahul's century, LSG scored 199/4 in 20 overs. Manish Pandey also scored 38 runs off 29 balls for LSG, while Jaydev Unadkat snared two wickets for MI.
Chasing a target of 200 runs for victory, MI was reduced to 181 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs to suffer an 18-run defeat against the LSG. For MI, Suryakumar Yadav scored 37 runs, while Avesh Khan snared three wickets for LSG.
