Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Rahul Tripathi was one of the key causes of Kolkata Knight Riders' 7-wicket loss in their IPL 2022 encounter at the Brabourne Stadium had no influence on how the right-hander was greeted after the game.
After decimating Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy, and Andre Russell to lead SRH to a hat-trick of wins, Tripathi, who made 71 and got the Player of the Match award, received a heartfelt hug from the KKR head coach Brendon McCullum.
Rahul Tripathi played for the KKR franchise in IPL 2021 where he was utilized as a finisher.
Notably, while McCullum was a member of the Kolkata-based franchise, he always spoke well of Tripathi, and fans were happy to see him continue to do so even after the right-departure hander's to SRH ahead of this season.

Brendon McCullum greeted Rahul Tripathi with a heartfelt hug and then burst out laughing. KKr mentor David Hussey said, "good things should happen to good people like him."
Andre Russell was spotted with Tripathi taking photos. Rahul Tripathi received the nicest gestures and reactions from the his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders' support staff and players on Friday.

Tripathi ended up 71 off 37 balls to help SRH chase down the 176-run goal in 17.5 overs after scoring the joint-fastest fifty of IPL 2022 in 21 balls.
