IPL 2022: Rashid Khan hails Hardik Pandya and gives credits his captaincy for GT's success so far

Hardik Pandya has been leading Gujarat Titans from the front in the ongoing IPL 15.

Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Rashid Khan heaped praise on his captain, Hardik Pandya, after the debutant franchise jumped to the top of the points table after thrashing Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 37 runs in the 24th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 on Thursday (April 14).

Gujarat Titans have won four of their five matches so far, taking the top spot in the IPL 2022 points table with eight points. After Gujarat’s fourth victory, Rashid said that Hardik Pandya has been leading from the front with inspirational performances and is also going out of his way to create a happy team environment, and it has played a key role in the franchise’s success so far in the IPL 15.

Rashid Khan said at the virtual post-match press conference: “The way he (Hardik) has led the team, the way he has kept the team environment, inside and outside the field has been amazing so far.”

He added, “Hardik is someone who always takes that brave decision, always has confidence and he is someone who is very clear in mind on what he is going to do. This is an important thing as a captain when your mind is clear, and you take the right decisions, the result will take (care) by itself.”

Rashid further stressed that the ability to take the right decisions at right time makes Hardik Pandya a good leader. He signed off by saying, “You take right decisions with confidence, that is something which makes him the best and he has been delivering the best so far and leading from the front (be it) batting, bowling, and fielding.”
