Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh praised Rajasthan Royals opener, Jos Buttler, after his gentleman-like conduct during his team’s IPL 2022 game against Gujarat Titans on April 14, 2022. RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to field first.
RR came into the match as the no.1 ranked team on the IPL points table, while GT came after losing their last match to Sunrisers Hyderabad. RR made one forced change as Jimmy Neesham came in for Trent Boult who picked up a niggle, while GT made two changes as Vijay Shankar and Yash Dayal came into the XI.
While Matthew Wade (12) and Shubman Gill (13) and Vijay Shankar (2) fell early for GT, Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar gave the innings stability and impetus in the middle overs.

But an incident involving Jos Buttler led to Yuvraj Singh taking to Twitter and praising him for his gentlemanly conduct and saying that his teammates should learn from him.
The incident happened on the second ball of the 12th over bowled by Jimmy Neesham, Hardik Pandya swung his bat hard and the ball went wide of the long-on fielder. Jos Buttler dived in to save the ball and successfully kept the ball in. However, the ball hit his left hand and went towards the boundary ropes.
While in process of picking it up with his right hand, Buttler seemingly grazed the boundary padding with the ball in his hand, and when the umpires gestured towards him, he said he didn’t know whether he touched the ropes with the ball in contact.
The third umpire was called in and replays showed the obvious and a boundary was declared.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh tweeted, “We still have gentleman in the game of cricket !!! @josbuttler other players should learn from him specially team mates !!! #IPL2022 #RRvGT.”
To this, many fans thought that it was a dig of some kind and reacted who the intended target was on the social media sights.
