In the IPL 2022 match against the Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost the toss and had to bat first. The Chennai team still posted a mammoth total of 216/4 on the board thanks to brilliant batting from Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa.

Chasing 217, RCB got off to a bad start losing their skipper Faf du Plessis in the 3rd over. Barely halfway through the innings, the chasing team had already lost Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and the in-form batter Anuj Rawat thanks to an outstanding catch by Ambati Rayadu.

Ambati put in a full-length dive at covers before taking the catch one-handed while being in the air.

The ‘little master’ Sachin Tendulkar said on his Youtube channel that he was reminded of the former Australia captain Ricky Ponting when he saw the 36-year-old Rayudu's effort.

“The catch that Rayudu took off Jadeja's bowling, that reminded me of Ponting. That catch was just magnificent. Did it feel good to fly Rayudu? It was a good catch, well done,” said Tendulkar

He also felt that the Faf-led franchise could have chased down the target had they not lost so many wickets early in the innings.

“When the team is chasing 217, the batsmen have to take risks. I felt towards the end that RCB were thinking that if they had not lost so many wickets in the beginning, this match could have been closer and they might have even chased the total down. Eventually, we always think that we should conserve wickets early on but at the same time, there was a need to put runs on the board. It was a tough total to chase,” he added.
