Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar left many in splits after he asked English commentator Alan Wilkins about the Kohinoor diamond ‘on air’ during the IPL 2022 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday (10th April).
Gavaskar, who is doing the commentary duties in the ongoing IPL 2022, is known for his sense of humour. The Indian legend has many times quipped something that has hogged the headlines and has made many laugh.
He used his sense of humour to a great extent during the match between RR and LSG at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During Rajasthan’s innings, the broadcaster showed the view of the famous Marine drive, which is also known as Queen's Necklace.

Gavaskar, who was commentating at that time, talked about the beauty of the place and hilariously asked his English colleague Alan Wilkins about the Kohinoor diamond, saying that the Indians are still waiting for the precious stone.
“We are still awaiting the Kohinoor diamond,” he said. Replying to this, Wilkins said that he knew that the former Indian skipper was going to ask him about the same. Gavaskar then cheekily told the English commentator to use his influence and ask the British government to return the diamond to India.
