Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered their fourth successive defeats in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday (April 9).
It was a double-header day in the IPL 2022 as CSK took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and MI faced the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
While SRH defeated the defending champions by 8 wickets in the first game, the Rohit Sharma-led side lost to RCB by 7 wickets in the second match.
After MI’s defeat, former India opener Wasim Jaffer shared a hilarious video on Twitter featuring Yuvraj Singh as a child actor. In the clip, Yuvraj and his friend can be heard saying that we will lose together and win together.
“MI and CSK this IPL so far Cc: @YUVSTRONG12”, Jaffer captioned the video.
Coming to the first match, CSK posted 154/7 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. All-rounder Moeen Ali was the top scorer with 48 off 35 balls.
In reply, SRH rode on opener Abhishek Sharma’s 50-ball 75 to overhaul the target with 14 deliveries to spare.
In the second game, MI posted 151/6 in their 20 overs on the back of Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 68 off 37 balls.
Chasing the target, RCB got over the line with 9 balls to spare. Opener Anuj Rawat was the top scorer with 47-ball 66 while former skipper Virat Kohli played a significant knock of 48 in 36 balls. The pair was involved in a match-winning stand of 80 runs for the second wicket.
