Gujarat Titans’ (GT) all-rounder Rahul Tewatia is currently an incredibly happy man after guiding his franchise to a thrilling 6-wicket win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 16th match of the ongoing IPL 2022.

With Gujarat Titans requiring 12 runs off the final two balls, Tewatia took charge of the side and finished the game, like MS Dhoni, by hitting two consecutive sixes off Odean Smith to draw victory from the jaws of defeat against PBKS on April 8 (Friday).

Tewatia said after winning the match for the Gujarat Titans: “Amazing feeling. There was nothing to think! Just go there and hit sixes, that's what I and David were thinking.”

Speaking about his planning against the PBKS all-rounder, Tewatia said: “I planned against Smith. The last ball was off the middle of the bat, and I knew it was six. The first ball he bowled was wide outside off, and so I thought the last ball was going to come there too.”

He also lauded the franchise’s coaching staff, comprising Ashish Nehra as head coach, Gary Kirsten as batting coach, and Vikram Solanki as Director of Cricket Operations.

Tewatia signed off by saying, “Staff is really chilled here. They just tell us to practice hard.”

Notably, the Gujarat Titans have won all their matches so far they have played in the ongoing IPL 2022, and are currently sitting at the second spot in the points table with 6 points.
