Nitish Rana of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been reprimanded and fined 10% of his match fees for a level 1 offense committed during his team's IPL 2022 encounter against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 6, 2022.
On the other hand, MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah received a warning for violating the code of conduct during the same game, which KKR won by five wickets on Wednesday.
The IPL news release, on the other hand, is vague about the details of the breach.
“Nitish Rana from Kolkata Knight Riders has been reprimanded and fined 10 percent of his match-fee for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Pune. Rana admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,” the media release stated.
There was no monetary penalty levied and merely a warning given in the instance of Bumrah.
“Jasprit Bumrah from Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’ Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Pune. Bumrah admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction,” the BCCI stated.
In case of Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Refree's decision is final and binding.
