Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Avesh Khan said that it is very important for the bowlers to handle the pressure in order to succeed on a big stage like the Indian Premier League (IPL), after he helped the new franchise to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 12 runs in an IPL 2022 match on April 4, 2022.

According to Avesh, the key to success lies in handling the pressure, as the pacer has yet again returned with a match-winning spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing IPL 2022.

In the 12th match of the ongoing IPL 2022, Avesh picked up four big wickets, conceding just 24 runs to help LSG restrict SRH to 169/7 in the 12th match of the ongoing IPL 2022, and later KL Rahul (68) and Deepak Hooda (51) smashed stunning fifties to take the side over the line in the final over on Monday.

Avesh said at the post-match virtual press conference: “In IPL as a bowler there will be pressure on you in every match and how you handle that is very important. I never think that I am the main bowler of the team. I always try to take wickets for the team.”

The bowler said that he doesn’t take any unnecessary pressure. He added, “If I start thinking that I am the main bowler, I will take pressure upon myself, which is unnecessary.”

He also stressed that being a bowler, his main job is to pick up wickets for his team. Avesh signed off by saying, “I’m very happy to contribute to the winning cause. In the first match, I got an opportunity to save 11 runs in one over which I couldn't. Today I was focused on taking wickets.”
