Liam Livingstone was probably at his best during the 11th match of the ongoing IPL 2022, as he inspired Punjab Kings (PBKS) to a 54-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 3.

Firstly, Livingstone smashed a quick-fire 60 off 32 balls to help Punjab Kings (PBKS) post a challenging total of 180/8 in 20 overs.

Following his batting exploits, the England spinner snared two wickets while conceding just 25 runs in three overs to help PBKS restrict CSK to 126 in 18 overs to crush the defending champions by 54 runs and jump to the fourth spot in the IPL 2022 points table.

Reviewing the CSK vs PBKS match on his YouTube channel, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra hailed Livingstone – who was adjudged player of the match for his all-around performance against CSK – for justifying his worth in the world’s biggest T20 extravaganza, the IPL.

Chopra said on his YouTube channel: “Punjab Kings had bought Liam Livingstone after paying a huge amount. He has deposited the first EMI because this encounter was entirely in Liam Livingstone's name. He was absolutely stellar - bat, ball, fielding - I mean there was nothing that he couldn't do, only flying was left. He was the lord of all lords.”

He concluded, “The only difference between him and Jos Buttler is that Jos tapers off a little, that he will score a century, will play long. Liam Livingstone thinks he will hit every ball to Churchgate, Wankhede, or Marine Drive. First, he did the job in the batting, then you see his bowling, off-spin at times, leg-spin at other times, picked up wickets. If nothing was left, he took catches. He single-handedly defeated CSK.”
