Gujarat Titans (GT) registered their second successive victory in the ongoing IPL season as they defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 14 runs at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday (April 2).
Invited to bat first, GT rode on opener Shubman Gill’s classy 84 off 46 balls to post 171/6 in their 20 overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya (31 off 27 balls) and David Miller (20* off 15 balls) also made notable contributions with the bat.
With the ball, the Titans restricted the Capitals to 157/9. Lockie Ferguson starred with the ball for Gujarat as he took four wickets by giving away only 28 runs in his four overs. Hardik Pandya (1-22), Mohammad Shami (1-30), and Rashid Khan (1-30) also returned with impressive figures for Gujarat.
After the game, GT head coach Ashish Nehra addressed the team and his short and sweet speech won the internet.
Rather than showering rich praises on his wards, Nehra advised them to eat well and sleep well.
"Nothing. Eat well, sleep well. We have five days to our third match. Chill. Sleep well," Nehra said in his speech, which is garnering a lot of attention on social media.
