Former CSK captain MS Dhoni earned rich praise from Twitterati for his sportsmanship when his team clashed with Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), on April 3.

CSK suffered their third consecutive loss in the IPL 2022 as PBKS won the match by 54 runs after putting on 180/8 batting first and keeping CSK to 126.

However, Dhoni,40, who is still agile and quick behind the stumps, as evident from his runout of Bhanuka Rajapaksa during the match, was praised for his honesty after he took a dicey looking catch behind the stumps.

During the 8th over bowled by CSK's Dwaine Pretorius, PBKS star Liam Livingstone played a leg glance and his shot ended up producing a thick edge.  Showcasing elite athleticism, Dhoni dived full length to his left and took the catch in both gloves.

However, Dhoni was not convinced that he has taken the ball safely and the CSK icon insisted on an umpire referral. The on-filed umpires checked the replays and found that while Dhoni had the ball by his fingers tips, the ball still touched the ground and declared Livingstone not out.
