MS Dhoni inflicted a brilliant run out | Screengrab MS Dhoni on Sunday (April 3) turned back the clock with an athletic run out of Bhanuka Rajapaksa in an IPL 2022 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

During the second over of PBKS’ innings, Rajapaksa pushed the ball to the left of the bowler and rushed for a quick single. Chris Jordan collected the ball on his follow through and threw it at the striker's end but missed.

However, Dhoni exhibited a brilliant presence of mind as he ran up to the stumps to cover for the throw. The former CSK skipper collected the ball and threw underarm to catch Rajapaksa short of his crease.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. They have lost their first two games at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants.
