Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant on Saturday (2nd April) made a hilarious mistake ahead of his side’s encounter against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Match 10 of Indian Premier League (IPL) at MCA Stadium in Pune.
It was during the toss that an incident happened that left many in splits. DC captain Pant won the toss and in what was a slip of tongue, he almost opted to bat first. The wicketkeeper-batter then correct himself immediately and decided to bowl first. “We would like to bat.. ohhh bowl first!” he said.
As this happened, opposition skipper, Hardik Pandya broke into laughter and even presenter Danny Morrison took a jibe at Pant and cheekily asked him twice if his decision to bowl was final.

Coming to the match, Delhi Capitals suffered a disappointing 14-run loss. Bowling first, Mustafizur Rahman’s superlative effort of 3/23 on debut for the franchise restricted Gujarat Titans to a total of 171/6.
DC then started poorly with the bat and lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Skipper Pant tried hard and scored 43 runs but none of the other batters went past the 26-run mark as they suffered their first loss of the season.
The Rishabh Pant-led side will next take on Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday (7th April) in Mumbai.
