The 7th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday (31st March) went down the wire and gave fans everything to cheer about. 

The KL Rahul-led side pulled off an incredible chase to register their first win in the IPL 2022. Chasing the mammoth target of 211 runs, Evin Lewis (55*), Quinton de Kock (61), KL Rahul (40) and Ayush Badoni (19*) chipped in at crucial stages and helped their side win the match with three balls to spare. 

After a solid 99-run opening partnership between Rahul and De Kock, Lewis played a blinder of an innings. He was complimented well by Badoni in the end and the duo made sure that they do most of the damage in the penultimate over to ease the pressure.

With 34 runs needed off the last two overs, they smashed Shivam Dube for 25 runs in the over and almost ensured victory for their side. Needing 9 runs in the last over, after two wide balls Badoni smashed a six to level the scores before hitting the winning runs to take his side past the finish line. 

As Badoni hit the winning runs, mentor Gautam Gambhir was pumped up and was seen expressing his joy in the dugout.

Lucknow Super Giants will next take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next encounter on April 4 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
