Dhoni became the 6th Indian batter to achieve 7,000 runs in T20s | BCCI-IPLFormer CSK captain MS Dhoni showed some hitting prowess of his old self as he smacked a cameo of 16* in 6 balls with 2 fours and one six against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 7th match of the IPL 2022 being played at the Brabourne Stadium on March 31, 2022.

LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first. LSG made one change, bringing in Andrew Tye. However, CSK made bulk changes Devon Conway went out for Moeen Ali, Adam Milne made way for Dwaine Pretorius, and Mitchell Santner was benched for Mukesh Choudhary.

Ruturaj Gaikwad had another off day as he was unfortunately run out for 1 run. But then Robin Uthappa (50) and Moeen Ali added 56 runs for the second wicket. Uthappa reached his fifty in just 25 balls with 8 fours and 1 six but was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi.

Moeen Ali hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his 22-ball 35 before he was castled by Avesh Khan. Then Shivam Dube (49) and Ambati Rayudu (27) added a quick 60 runs for the 4th wicket. Ravindra Jadeja made 17 runs in 9 balls.

But the finish of the match came from MS Dhoni as he slammed a six off the first ball he faced against Avesh Khan and ended the innings with 16* in 6 balls, taking CSK to a final total of 210/7.

During his knock, Dhoni also became the sixth Indian after Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and Robin Uthappa to reach the 7,000 T20 runs milestone.
