Virat Kohli shared a wholesome moment with Faf du Plessis during Match 6 of the ongoing IPL 2022 season, at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai wheere Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

RCB scored a narrow 3-wicket win despite chasing down a 129-run target only. Wanindu Hasaranga had picked 4/20 as KKR batted first after losing the toss. Andre Russell top-scored with 25 for the Shreyas Iyer-led side.

In reply, Tim Southee picked 3/20 and other KKR bowlers put pressure on RCB batters who crumbled badly in the chase. It was Sherfane Rutherford (28) and Shahbaz Ahmed (27) along with Dinesh Karthik’s amazing finish taking RCB to the finish line.

During the KKR innings, when they were teetering on 83/6, Virat Kohli shared a wholesome moment with captain Faf du Plessis. The duo shared an emotional hug in the middle which made RCB fans reminisce of Kohli’s equation with AB de Villiers, who retired from cricket after IPL 2021.

Apart from Hasaranga’s 4/20, Akash Deep took three wickets, Harshal Patel bagged two and Mohammed Siraj also claimed a scalp. This was RCB’s first win under captaincy of Faf du Plessis.
