Rashid Khan is one of the biggest matchwinners in T20 cricket across the world. Hence, it was no surprise when Gujarat Titans shelled out a big sum to draft him into their side before IPL 2022. It could well turn out to be a masterstroke with Rashid becoming a pillar for them for years to come.
Gujarat Titans started off their campaign with a win against fellow debutants Lucknow Supergiants on March 28. Rashid was at his economical best with 1/27 from his 4 overs, helping stem the run flow when Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni seemed to be hitting everything out of the park.
He had spoken to NDTV before the match and only had good things to say about Lucknow Super Giants leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi when asked about which fellow leg-spinners he interacts with.
Rashid said that he was happy to see so many youngsters perform in the IPL but he was particularly impressed with Bishnoi’s consistency.
"You always see new faces in the IPL, who are coming up and taking the responsibility. There are so many youngsters out there, especially in the bowling department I would say, Bishnoi (Ravi). He has done really well in the past couple of seasons. This will be his third season and he brings in consistency and energy.”, he told NDTV.
“He has also played for India and it could be an extra booster for him. He needs to manage himself and keep continuing the good performances, I am really looking forward to it (seeing him)." Rashid said.
Bishnoi had a rare off-day against the Gujarat Titans with figures of 0/34 from his 4 overs.
