Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Tim Seifert on Sunday (27th March) talked about his side’s win in an IPL 2022 encounter against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Delhi started their IPL 15 campaign with a sensational 4-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians. Bowling first, after winning the toss, they didn’t have a great start as Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma went after their bowlers and smashed 67 runs for the opening partnership.
However, after that Kuldeep Yadav turned the momentum towards his side and removed Rohit and Anmolpreet in quick succession of time and then later removed Kieron Pollard as well to return with the figures of 3/18. Khaleel Ahmed also had a decent outing as he took 2 wickets and helped his side restrict MI to 177 runs.

Chasing the target, openers Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert, came out all guns blazing and smashed 30 runs in the first three overs. But after that, the Rishabh Pant-led side suffered a massive collapse and was reduced to 104/6.
It almost seemed that MI will pave their way into the easy victory. But this wasn’t the case as Lalit Yadav and Akshar Patel stood tall for their side and stitched a 79-run partnership that helped DC chase the target with 10 balls to spare.
Speaking after the match, Tim Seifert said that his team showed great courage and it was great to start IPL 2022 campaign. He also talked about the stunning catch he took of Kieron Pollard.
"Everything is good. Great way to start the campaign, for me and the team. It was an entertaining (game), T20 cricket. We showed fighting courage. Sometimes you got to stick the mitts out. It was good to see the back of him early (on Pollard's catch)," Tim Seifert said.
Seifert said that they have been preparing well for the tournament and are looking forward to spending the next few months with head coach Ricky Ponting.
"We have been here for a week. It has been excellent. The cricket we have been talking about (with Ponting) has been excellent. Looking forward to the next few months with him," he said.
Delhi Capitals will now take on Gujarat Titans in their next match of IPL 15 on April 2.
