IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals revamp their social media team after Samson slammed admin for an offensive tweet

RR will open their IPL 2022 campaign against SRH on March 29.

Rajasthan Royals | TwitterIn a major development, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday (March 25) revamped their social media team.

The announcement comes on a day that saw skipper Sanju Samson taking his franchise's social media team to task for posting a distasteful tweet.

Taking to Twitter, RR posted a statement that reads: “In light of today’s events, we will be making changes to our approach and team on social media.”

“Everything is well within the squad ahead of the first game as the boys prepare for SRH. The management will revisit our overall digital strategy and appoint a new team in due course.”

“We realise that it is the IPL season and fans want the account to post updates regularly. We will find temporary solutions in the interim,” the statement added.

Earlier in the day, the official handle of RR had shared an edited picture of Samson with the caption, “Kya khoob lagte ho”.

The post didn’t go down well with Samson, who opined that the teams should act professionally on social media.

“Its ok for friends to do all this but teams should be professional..,” Samson tweeted and also mentioned @rajasthanroyals in his post.

Soon after the captain's tweet, Royals deleted the offensive post but the screenshot of the same is doing rounds on social media.

Rajasthan Royals will open their IPL 2022 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 29 at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
