IPL 2022: WATCH - “Not worried much because Mahi bhai is there” - Jadeja shares thoughts after becoming CSK captain

MS Dhoni led CSK right from 2008 IPL, winning the title in 2010,2011, 2018 and 2021.

MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja | TwitterIndia all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has started a new chapter of his Indian Premier League (IPL) career after he was named the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain as MS Dhoni stepped down from the role two days before the start of IPL 2022 edition.

Jadeja now joins the likes of Hardik Pandya and Mayank Agarwal who have been named full-time captains of their respective franchises Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings for the upcoming IPL 2022 which begins from March 26 onwards.

Jadeja shared his first thoughts on his new role in a video released by CSK on their social media channels. The Saurashtra-based cricketer, who became a mainstay in India's cricket setup under Dhoni's captaincy, said: “Feeling good but at the same time I need to fill in big boots.”

Like Mahi bhai has already set a big legacy and we need to carry it forward, so hopefully I will. And I don't need to worry too much because he's here and whatever question I need to ask, I'll definitely go to him. He was my go-to person and he still is today, so I'm not worried too much. And thank you for all your wishes and love,” Jadeja said in a video shared by CSK.

CSK will take on KKR in IPL 2022 opener in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on March 26.
