Twitterverse had a field day when Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought ace Indian spinner R Ashwin in the IPL 2022 mega auction, given that they had retained England’s Jos Buttler ahead of the event. Buttler and Ashwin share a rivalry thanks to the bowler running out the batter in a match in IPL 2019.
Leading Punjab Kings back then, Ashwin had 'mankaded' Buttler. The RR batter had said that he was disappointed and that the incident set a bad precedent. Buttler is with the pink franchise since 2018, while Ashwin will be playing for the first time in Rajasthan colors.
Both the senior players are now teammates and will share the dressing room. A few days before the start of the tournament, RR took to Twitter to share a pic of them sharing a laugh during a net session.
