IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals expecting Anrich Nortje to be fit by April 7 for IPL 15- Report

Nortje is in quarantine in DC hotel in Mumbai.

Anrich Nortje for DC | IPL-BCCIIn what can be a huge sigh of relief for the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) side, the management is expecting their South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje to get fully fit for the upcoming IPL 2022 season and be available from April 7 onwards.

Nortje, one of the most successful pacers for the Delhi team in recent times, was retained by the franchise for INR 6.5 crore and the preference for him was even over accomplished Kagiso Rabada.

However, his being out of the cricket since the T20 World Cup 2021 due to a persistent hip issue had cast clouds over his participation in the IPL 2022 for the Delhi Capitals. The pacer was not included in any of South Africa's home international series this winter and was even not named for the home series against Bangladesh.

Despite this, Cricbuzz reported that a DC team official has said that Nortje will be taking part in the IPL 15 from the team's third game, more precisely from April 7, when the Capitals take on Lucknow Super Giants at DY Patil Stadium.

The fast bowler reached Mumbai already with his wife and is in quarantine for the past couple of days.
